We’ve each developed our ways of walking over decades, deeply embedding them in our brains and bodies. Learning a new way to walk requires inhibiting old patterns and forging new ones. This requires awareness and practice. In this class I use Core Movement Integration Pathways to help develop new walking patterns.
Have you ever “walked” while lying on your back? I begin by teaching walking in positions that we don’t usually – or maybe never – use for walking. In these positions your habitual patterns are less active. Additional movement exercises will help you develop new awareness and understanding of your physical body and its movement.
By the end of four (4) weeks you’ll be walking upright with increased ease and lightness.
I invite you to join me in exploring walking – a fundamental functional activity.
