For me, the time after Core Movement Integration class is when I embody what we learned. Taking a walk after class that is effortless and light. Having dinner and reaching for a glass of water and lifting it to my mouth is again a new and delightful experience. It’s why I keep coming back.
Byron Eddy
CMI Practitioner and LMT
CMI has shaped my mindset of how movement travels through the body. I use it every work day as I investigate movement anomalies that I can clarify with my hands to solve problems that my patients have with sitting, standing, walking and other activities of daily life.
Using this approach has extended my working life as I get to use my whole self to facilitate the person’s use of their whole self. Distributing effort saves much wear and tear on my hands. At 76 years of age I can still treat 6 people a day, making a meaningful difference in their quality of life.

Core Movement Integration is an incredibly practical and useful framework to understand and teach movement. The six pathways of CMI are full body movements. The way that primary colors are a group of essential colors that all other colors can be made by mixing, the six pathways are essential movements that can be combined to create integrated, full-body movements, like walking, turning and reaching. Understanding these pathways also provides a framework for efficient and effective hands-on work with students/clients.

CMI classes offer something fun and new to learn and discover in our bodies, ourselves… training us in hands-on, self-cueing and massage. The practice is easily applied to so many of our daily life functions – to make them more safe, efficient, and effective… [CMI is] easily customized to one’s own particular needs to enhance comfort and mobility.
