Fun for Feet and Legs with Pool Noodles, Balls and Bands

by Cheryl

This class is for CMI practitioners, practitioners in training and experienced clients. You must know the six CMI Pathways in standing, lying on your back, and lying on your side to participate.

Presenter: Debbie Hledik, LMT

Live via Zoom on Sunday, August 23, 1pm – 3pm

Debbie Hledik, massage therapist and CMI practitioner/trainer, will teach how to use her signature inventive aids– pool noodles, balls, and exercise bands. Have fun while increasing range of motion, connecting motion of the feet, legs and hips, and improving lower extremity functioning.

After a short review of important anatomy points, we’ll practice hands-on techniques and lesson-exercises using aids made from everyday “toys” to improve IT Band mobility, fibula mobility, hip mobility, foot and calf massage, and the leg lengthener exercise in several positions.

To get the most out of this class you’ll need to provide your own aids. Here’s what we’ll use:

  • Pool noodle
  • 8 inch ball, fairly firm. An official massage ball is best but you can improvise with a toy ball that is well inflated.
  •  “Pinky ball”, a firm small ball, about 2.5 inches in diameter, cut in half along its equator.
  • Exercise band – at least 6 feet in length, long enough so that the ends reach your pelvis when the center point is placed under your foot. A lighter weight band is more effective than a heavier weight. If needed you can tie shorter pieces of band together.

Don’t worry if you don’t have the exact items – be creative and improvise! That’s what Debbie would do.

We hope you’ll join us for the fun!

Early Bird Pricing is $30 through August 19, $40 after.
